Uber vs Lyft: Every Rideshare Credit on Premium Credit Cards in 2026
Amex backs Uber. Chase backs Lyft. Delta and United cards sit in the middle with credits that work on either platform.
If you carry premium cards from both issuers, you could have over $500/year in rideshare credits. But most people don't ride both platforms equally. Here's how to figure out which credits you have and which platform to default to.

Uber credits (Amex)
Uber Cash: $15/month (Platinum), $10/month (Gold)
The Amex Platinum gets $15/month in Uber Cash, loaded directly to your Uber account. That's $180 per year, plus a $20 bonus in December ($35 total that month).
The Amex Gold gets $10/month in Uber Cash, with no December bonus. That's $120 per year.
Uber Cash works on rides and Uber Eats. Add your card as a payment method in the Uber app and the credit loads automatically on the 1st of each month.
If you carry both Platinum and Gold, that's $300/year in Uber Cash. They stack.
What to know:
- Loads automatically. No activation needed beyond linking the card
- Works on Uber Eats, not just rides
- Expires at the end of each month. Use it or lose it
- December bonus on the Platinum: $35 instead of $15
Uber One Membership: $120/year
The Amex Platinum also covers a full Uber One membership ($9.99/month). That's a separate $120/year credit on top of the Uber Cash.
Uber One gives you free delivery on Uber Eats orders over $15, 5% off eligible rides, priority pickup, and member pricing. If you use Uber Eats regularly, this turns every $15/month Uber Cash into more like $20 in value after the savings.

Lyft credits (Chase)
Lyft Credit: $10/month
The Chase Sapphire Reserve and CSR Business get $10/month in Lyft credits. That's $120 per year.
Credits load in the Lyft app. Rides only, not Lyft-adjacent services.
What to know:
- Must link your CSR in the Lyft app to activate
- Rides only. No food delivery equivalent
- Expires monthly
- Benefit runs through September 30, 2027. Not permanent
Free DashPass = Lyft perks too (bonus)
CSR cardholders get complimentary DashPass (through 12/31/2029). DashPass bundles in Lyft discounts through the DoorDash-Lyft partnership:
- 5-10% off up to 4 Lyft rides per month
- 10% off scheduled airport rides
- 2 free Priority Pickup upgrades per month
These stack with the $10 monthly credit. Use the credit first, then the DashPass discount kicks in on additional rides. For frequent riders, this adds meaningful value on top of the $120/year base credit.
Note: CSR used to include a full Lyft Pink All Access membership ($199/yr value), but enrollment ended in 2024. The DashPass Lyft perks are the current replacement.
Flexible rideshare credits
These work on multiple platforms. Use them wherever you ride.
Delta Rideshare: $10/month
The Delta Reserve ($650/yr) and Delta Platinum ($350/yr) cards get $10/month as a statement credit on any rideshare purchase: Uber, Lyft, Curb, Revel, or Alto. That's $120/year.
This is the most flexible rideshare credit. Pay with your Delta card on whichever platform you prefer. The credit posts as a statement credit, not as in-app cash.
United Rideshare: $5 to $12/month
Chase United cards get a monthly statement credit on rideshare purchases: Uber or Lyft. The Explorer gets $5/month ($60/year). The Quest and United Business get $8/month ($96/year). The Club cards get $12/month ($18 in December), $150/year.
Requires enrollment each calendar year. The credit is a statement credit on any Uber or Lyft charge.
On the United Explorer, which costs $150/year, the $60 rideshare credit covers 40% of the annual fee.

Uber wins on value. The Amex Platinum's $300/year in combined Uber value is 2.5 times the CSR's $120 Lyft credit. And Uber Cash works on food delivery, which Lyft credits don't.
Lyft riders can start cheaper. The United Explorer at $150/year gets you $60 in rideshare credits that work on either platform.
Which platform should you default to?
Default to Uber if you carry Amex Platinum or Gold. You have $120 to $300/year in Uber-specific credits plus Uber One membership. Using Lyft instead means leaving Uber Cash on the table.
Default to Lyft if CSR is your primary card and you don't carry Amex. The $10/month Lyft credit plus the DashPass Lyft discounts is solid for regular riders.
Use both if you carry both. Burn the Uber Cash first each month (it expires), then switch to Lyft for the rest of the month using your CSR credit. If you have a Delta or United card, use the flexible rideshare credit on whichever platform has the better surge pricing at the moment.
Stacking for maximum rideshare value
