Chase Sapphire Reserve Business Doubles The Edit Credit to $1,000
Chase just announced the first major changes to the Sapphire Reserve for Business since the card launched in 2025. The headline: The Edit hotel credit doubles from $500 to $1,000 per year starting January 1, 2027.
That single benefit now covers more than the card's $795 annual fee.

Each credit still maxes out at $250 per stay. You need four separate two-night bookings to use the full $1,000. Back-to-back stays at the same hotel count as separate bookings if the hotel allows it.
What about the personal Sapphire Reserve?
The personal Chase Sapphire Reserve stays at $500 per year (2 x $250). This increase applies only to the Business card.
Other changes announced
3X advertising spend cap. Starting November 15, 2026, the 3X points rate on social media and search engine advertising is limited to the first $1 million in spending per anniversary year. Spending above $1 million earns 1X. Most small businesses won't hit this cap.
New sign-up bonus. New cardholders can earn 200,000 bonus points after spending $30,000 in the first six months.
What this means for the card's value
The Sapphire Reserve for Business already had a strong credit lineup: $300 travel credit, $500 Edit credit, $420 in DoorDash value, $200 Google Workspace credit, $400 ZipRecruiter credit, $120 Lyft credit, and $100 in gift card credits.
With the Edit increase, the card's total annual credits jump from roughly $2,040 to $2,540. Against a $795 fee, that's $1,745 in net value if you use everything.
The Edit credit is the hardest to use at face value since it requires prepaid hotel bookings through Chase Travel. But if your business books four hotel stays a year through Chase anyway, this is $500 in free money.
What you need to do
Nothing yet. The change takes effect automatically on January 1, 2027. Keep booking through The Edit on Chase Travel, and you'll see four credits available instead of two.
