Amex Business Cards Now Cover ChatGPT
American Express added a $25/month statement credit for ChatGPT Business to both the Business Platinum and Business Gold cards. The credit covers subscriptions purchased directly from OpenAI. Enrollment required.
ChatGPT Business has a two-seat minimum, so the smallest workspace costs $40/month on annual billing or $50/month on monthly billing. The $25/month credit covers more than half of that.
The math
OpenAI cut ChatGPT Business pricing in April 2026. Here's what you pay now with the Amex credit:

Annual billing saves you $120/year before the credit even kicks in. On annual, the credit knocks your two-seat workspace down to $180 per year.
How to get it closer to free
OpenAI and its partners periodically offer 50% off promotions on ChatGPT Business seats. FounderPass, Efficient.app, and others have run deals that make one seat free for months at a time.
Stack one of those with the Amex credit and two seats on annual billing look like this:
- 2 seats at $20/mo = $40/mo
- 50% off one seat = $30/mo
- Minus $25 Amex credit = $5/month out of pocket
That's $60/year for two seats of ChatGPT Business. If the promo covers both seats, the credit pays the full tab.

The credit is the same $25/month on both cards. If you carry both, only one card can earn the credit per OpenAI account.
How to activate
- Log into your Amex Business account and enroll in the ChatGPT benefit
- Sign up for ChatGPT Business at chatgpt.com/business with at least two seats
- Pay with your enrolled Amex card
- The credit posts automatically within a few days of each charge
The credit triggers on charges from OpenAI directly. Purchases through the App Store, Google Play, or third-party resellers will not count.
What you get with ChatGPT Business
ChatGPT Business includes everything in ChatGPT Plus: GPT-4o, image generation, Advanced Data Analysis, custom GPTs, and web browsing. On top of that, you get:
- Admin console with user management
- SSO and domain verification
- A privacy guarantee that your conversations and files are never used to train OpenAI models
- Higher usage limits than Plus
For a two-person team that already pays for ChatGPT Plus ($20/mo each = $40/mo), upgrading to Business costs the same or less after the Amex credit and gives you the admin tools and privacy protections.
